Responsible, Rejuvenating Adventures!
Creating Responsible Adventures in the Age of Covid-19:
As we all continue to live with the various levels of Covid related restrictions and lock downs, we know that people are really hungry to spend some peaceful time relaxing in the natural world. Join us for one of our small group, guided adventures! This could be your immediate family (or a small collection of friends in your social bubble) accompanied by one of our seasoned wilderness instructors.
Last summer our Ontario Parks were bustling with back-country campers and canoeists. We operated a number of amazing expeditions for clients last year while still adhering to public health guidelines. Our travellers told us that they hadn’t realized how much they needed to “get away” and spend time in nature until they were actually there, taking deep breaths of it and soaking in the incredible scenery.
We are now accepting booking for the Spring and Summer of 2021 already! With park permits becoming harder to secure, we intend to book early with people to ensure we can get them in where they would like to go. We are accepting small groups of up to 8 guests at a time (for a total of 9 people when including your Guide). This offers the opportunity for some highly customized, small group adventures!

Why a Canoe Adventure is the Perfect Choice:
Canoeing is a mode of travel that allows for very easily sustained physical distancing because while on the water, our guests are travelling 8-10 feet apart as they sit in their canoes and paddle through Ontario’s epic landscapes. Health specialists world wide acknowledge that activities outside with physical distancing measures in place are considered to be extremely low risk as compared to any other activities done inside including routine tasks like shopping for groceries.
Time spent unplugged in the natural world has proven benefits for positive mental health and assists in bringing the body back into a state of rest and repair. Leaders of the Day specializes at managing risk in back-country environments and has helped to lead national conversations with Canada’s Outdoor Community to create a set of safety guidelines now endorsed by public health officials to inform this summer’s adventures with our Guests.
A full outline of our Covid-19 safety procedures is available upon request. We’ve got you!
What Are the Benefits of Hiring a Guide?
Having a Guide can be an incredible experience when travelling in the back-country. Our Guides are experts at living, travelling and cooking in the wilderness. Enjoy gourmet meals cooked fire-side! Go for a sunrise or sunset paddle; get the inside scoop on great campsites; get mentored by our deeply talented instructors and have the piece of mind that comes with having an expert along with you.
Leaders of the Day can provide all the necessary equipment to avoid the need for you to purchase long lists of outdoor gear. Guests of course are welcome to bring as much of their own favourite equipment as they desire, but we can support your needs either way. For those joining us from outside of the same household, we can provide whatever combination of tents required to support proper distancing for overnight accommodation in the park.
All of our Instructors travel with a satellite telephone (for emergency situations), a professional grade wilderness first aid kit and all other industry standard safety equipment.
I have spent the last 25 years of my career as a wilderness guide and educator and have been in the business of training other Outdoor Professionals for the last 15. I have been greatly blessed to have worked, adventured and delivered trainings in places all over the world.
I lead programs in wilderness survival strategies and how to make back-country travel comfortable and decadent. I am a mindful traveler, a creator of delicious back-country cuisine, a playful storyteller and a patient passionate teacher. I specialize in creating high-end, transformative experiences and adventures for small groups or families. This is what I do!
I am trained as a Wilderness First Responder and am National Lifeguard certified. I am also a Paddle Canada Canoe Instructor and often am asked to weave a canoe course into the fabric of the personalized adventures that I create for clients.
I am also a Dad and understand how to share the magic of nature with kids!
